Tips for New Installation Door Selection

Pet Height
Measure from the floor to the highest part of your pet's back. Add 2" - 3" to the measured height so your pet can go through comfortably. -
Step Over Height
The "step-over" height is the space between the bottom of the pet door and the surrounding door or wall, chosen based on your pet's size and mobility. It should allow your pet to pass through comfortably. -
Consider Multiple Pets
When choosing a pet door for a home with multiple pets, select one based on the size of your largest pet to ensure it works for the smaller ones as well. Consider the step-over height for the smaller pets, and you may need to install a taller door low enough to accommodate them while still being suitable for your larger pet.
