Using the Pawport Charging Dock, the large Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery takes approximately 16 hours to reach a full charge while the small battery only takes a couple of hours.
Note: You do not need to remove the battery for it to charge. Only the included Pawport USB-C charging cable, the optional Charging Dock, or the Solar Panel should be used to charge the battery.
No, the battery can charge while it is in the Smart Pet Door. The Charging Dock is designed to charge a backup battery, which can be easily swapped in seconds into the Smart Pet Door. You may be interested in purchasing a backup battery and Charging Dock if you do not have a power outlet near your Smart Pet Door or if your unit is not in a convenient location to plug in (ex. in a sliding glass door).
The Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Batteries should charge and operate only between 0°C and 50°C. Operation outside this range may result in reduced performance or unsafe conditions
The 'dado' is the groove in your door or window frame that allows the glass to slide in. In most cases this depth is 1" (25 mm) if yours is not please contact Pawport Support.

The pet door opening is the actual clear space your pet walks through, not the outer frame or trim around the pet door. When measuring, focus only on the inside tunnel/opening area from edge to edge where your pet's body passes through.
